IPAcc UMY collaborated with School of Accounting UKM

UMY as a university with the motto of “MUDA MENDUNIA” continually attempts to improve international education system quality by establishing collaboration with foreign educational institutes. One of which is International Program of Accounting (IPAcc) UMY on Friday, 25th October 2016 that visited Program School of Accounting UKM (University Kebangsaan Malaysia) to strengthen silaturahmi and also held a meeting to plan International collaboration between the programs, IPAcc UMY and School of Accounting, Fakulti Ekonomi Pengurusan, UKM. In the meeting, Associate Professor Sofiah Md Auzair as Pengerusi Pusat School of Acoounting, UKM together with Associate Professor Mohd Rizal Palil as Head of Program Pusat Pengajian Program Perakunan UKM and Lecturing Staff enthusiastically  welcomed the international collaboration program.
Director of IPAcc, Peni Nugraheni, S.E., M.Sc., Ak., CA, explained that the academic visit to UKM was an initiation to establish collaboration in the form of activity program that will be beneficial for both. From the discussion carried out, various forms of viable collaboration that has been settled includes  student exchange, visiting lecturer, joint research and joint conference. The collaboration activities are expected to positively influence IPAcc in improving academic climate quality in the future.
IPAcc UMY has an objective to improve the educational quality and student competency of international accounting program. Hence, in the meeting, a profound discussion was made regarding the preparation of student exchange program between universities which includes the curriculum concept of study program, and the selection of student participant. This program emphasizes on the form of study given to UMY student participating in UKM’s study system and, in reverse, to UKM student participating in UMY’s study system. It is hoped that the existence of this companion visit might open opportunities such as educational collaboration, lecturer and student exchange, and joint research between university in Malaysia and Indonesia.
