FEB won Holds General Champion in 2019 Creative Idea Competition As a form of support for students’ creative thinking, Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta (UMY) once again holds a Creative Idea Competition (KIK) for the second time participated by hundreds of students. Through this program, it is also expected to improve life skills for students. The competition was officially closed by setting the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) as General Champion on Saturday (10/26) at the A.R Fachruddin UMY Building Grounds.

UMY Rector Dr. Ir. Gunawan Budiyanto, M.P emphasized that this competition must often be held routinely. This is done to accommodate the interests of students to conduct research in various fields. UMY has a tradition of routinely sending hundreds of research proposals every year which are sent to Dikti. “We must use our brain to the maximum by thinking creatively. By using our brains properly, the ability to socialize will be better too, “he said.

As a tertiary institution located in a city filled with various groups, UMY is demanded to be a campus that produces graduates with broad insight and respect for diversity. “We live in Yogyakarta as a city full of diversity. Open thinking can strengthen diversity and tolerance, “added Gunawan.

Meanwhile on the same occasion, the Head of the Student Creativity and Reasoning Development Division (PKPM) of the UMY Student and Alumni Development Institute (LPKA), Oki Wijaya, S.P., M.P. said that KIK is a competition that serves as a means of practicing students to face the National Scientific Week (PIMNAS). For this reason, he hopes students will make the most of this facility. “This is a miniature of Pimnas, we created this competition so that you can fight creative ideas. So that later it can come out showing the best, “he added.

This year’s competition was attended by around 200 proposals from various majors with FEB as the overall champion. The following is a list of champions, Faculty of Islamic Religion (FAI) 3 medals, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) 3 medals, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) 9 medals, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (Fisipol) 2 medals, Vocational Program 5 medals , Faculty of Law (FH) 1 medal, Faculty of Language Education (FPB) 1 medal, Faculty of Agriculture (FP) 5 medals and Faculty of Engineering (FT) 1 medal.
