Accounting Lecturer Achieved Best Paper in IPAFEM Turkey

Accounting Lecturer of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), Dr. Rizal Yaya, M.Sc. Ak. CA succeeded in achieving Best Paper in the 3rd International Conference on Perspective of Islamic Accounting, Finance, Economics and Management (IPAFEM) 2017 in Turkey. The two-day event from Thursday to Saturday (23-25 ​​/ 11), entitled “Navigating at an Uncertain Times for Social Economic Justice: The Role of Islamic Business Ethics.” The event is conducted by the University of Glasgow in collaboration with Hasan Kalyoncu University and Yıldız Technical University to share the knowledge between academics and scientists worldwide to raise new thinking for publication in the International journal Indexed Scopus.

Achievements achieved by Dr. Rizal Yaya, M.Sc. Ak. CA is not the first time achieved in the international arena. This proves the capacity of Indonesian lecturers can compete in the international order. In addition, IPAFEM is followed by more than 20 countries that delegate some lecturers to participate in IPAFEM. ” The committee review every paper based on some criteria such as the suitability of the theme, containing renewal and new innovation. This paper was the result of my research for five months. This event not only for for the paper competition, but also as a forum to to tighten the relationship between the participant, ” Rizal said when interviewed by the Public Relations and Protocol Bureau of UMY on Thursday (30/11 ) in the Dean’s FEB room.
Rizal added that the theme of ““Governance of Profit and Loss Sharing Financing in Achieving Socio-economic Justice,” is related to sharia economic governance by prioritizing the profit sharing financing. “There are several categories in paper submission: accounting, government, management, banking, business administration, business policy & strategy, capital markets etc. My paper is focusing on the government field deals with revenue-sharing schemes. The scheme is arranged for long-term management such as improving the small-medium businesses with considering the profit generated, “Rizal said.
Research conducted by Rizal is also important to be implemented because it helps the community in long-term entrepreneurship. “In supporting the socio-economic justice of society, it is important to have supporting financing. However, the party which give financing must supervise the program. In fact, many financing given is not sufficient because the financing period is just three years and majority for the new business. Therefore, revenue-sharing scheme is suitable to be developed because it will have long-term benefits and promote community justice. I also hope this achievement becomes a motivation for all elements of UMY to be always work hard to produce the useful research. “Rizal concluded.
